Videos on Product Pages
Product videos are a great tool to show different ways buyers can interact with your products. You can create product videos that serve a variety of marketing purposes, such as:
- Lifestyle videos that show the product in action (the model you’re selling a suit to, a cyclist using your tools on the freeway, a chef creating a treat with your cooking products)
- Tutorial videos showing how to set up or use a complex unit
- Product reviews and testimonials hosted on YouTube
- 360 ° views of your product in video format, instead of using alternative images

Adding Videos from the Admin Area
You can add YouTube videos to the product page by editing this product in the admin area. Please note that the YouTube Video Management section only appears for existing products; if you are creating a brand-new product, you must save it before viewing this section.
To Add a Video to a Product:
- On the Product Change page, scroll to YouTube Video Management and click Add.
- Enter a video link in the YouTube video link field, for example, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dkPbs5-GlY (note that the software may truncate or rewrite the URL).
- Enter the text you want to appear below the video in the captions field.
- Click the Add button.
Your video thumbnail will now appear in the YouTube Video Management section. You can add up to four videos to this section, if necessary, and then drag the videos’ thumbnails until they are in the order you want to view them.
Scroll up and click Live View to see how the video appears on the storefront. YouTube videos that you’ve uploaded to your product page will appear on the Description tab under any text you enter in the Description field.
To change the URL or title for a video, go back to the Manage YouTube section of the product edit page and click Edit below the video thumbnail. You can change the link and label in the Edit Product Video pop-up window. Please note that the YouTube video title will still appear in the built-in player, in addition to any subtitles you add.
If you want to add videos hosted on websites other than YouTube, you can use Easy Editor to embed third-party video code.
The Goal of E-commerce Video Marketing
Before you start recording your first video, it is essential to understand your goals. What exactly are you trying to do with e-commerce videos? This defines your approach and will help you create a video that will help you achieve your goals.
There are many reasons to use video marketing, but there are three main areas: education, awareness, and sales. Videos can be used to educate potential customers about your product. This is especially important when selling offers unique benefits that cannot be found in other options. This is even more important if your product is high-tech and needs additional explanation.
Video ads are a great way to increase awareness of your product. Videos are a great way to grab a potential customer’s attention, mostly when you’re selling something new or unique. Videos are made for passive consumption. Even someone who isn’t looking for what you have to offer may passively watch a video that might grab their attention.
Ultimately, WooCommerce product videos are all about sales. They measure your video’s ROI by increasing the sales that they generate. Done right, product videos increase sales. About three-quarters of consumers are more likely to buy something online if they first watch a video explaining it.
What are the Main Types of Product Videos?
Product Demo: Show your product in action by demonstrating its features and benefits. If establishing how to use it is not practical, show the product from different angles and add a close-up.
Explainer Video: Demonstrates how to use, customize, or best use the product. This may include installation and configuration, and product features and benefits.
Story: Shows the benefits of a product in the context of a person’s life and work. Stories are a powerful way to help people showcase your product as part of their lives.
Video Advertisement: Any of the above could be an advertisement, but some e-commerce videos can be used to convince people to buy a product.
Promote Your Product Videos
The most obvious place to start spreading your e-commerce videos is on your website. They can be used on landing pages to generate more profound interest in a product. Or they can be placed on product pages to help customers make their final decision. If you sell on a marketplace like Amazon, you can post your videos on product lists.
To get your message across, you can also include your e-commerce videos in the messages you send to your mailing list. Selected videos can be directly linked to a dedicated landing page to direct potential customers now to where they can make a purchase.
e-commerce videos are also perfect for your social media promotions. Videos can be posted on all social networks like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat.
For an even more significant impact, a small investment in paid online advertising can go a long way. Online video ads can be purchased on the Google Display Network, Google Marketing Platform, Google Ad Manager, YouTube, Bing, and even streaming services like Hulu.
Last Words
If you want to reach the largest possible number of leads, make sure everyone can get your messages. Adding subtitles to your videos can make them easier to find by improving your SEO. We can create subtitles to make your videos more accessible, more comfortable to share, and visible to people who can browse the web with the sound muted.
